The Westin Anaheim Resort, in the heart of California’s Anaheim Disneyland Resort district, is a definition of modern design paying homage to Anaheim’s historic orange grove roots. Long Beach, California-based Michael Hong Architects served as the project’s design architect, while HED was the executive architect and Los Angeles-based Cobico, Inc oversaw its interior design. The lighting design was conceived by Costa Mesa’s award-winning firm, First Circle Design.

The Westin Anaheim Resort is home to 618 guestrooms and suites, including the 785-square-foot Park View suites and the 2,000-square-foot presidential suite. Included among the resort’s 47,000 square feet of flexible event and meeting space are 23 event rooms, 18 breakout rooms, and a ballroom that totals more than 16,000 square feet.

The project features a variety of Targetti and Duralamp interior and exterior products. Exterior facade features DURATAPE HIVOLT ARCH and exterior coves with DURAFLEX ARCH TOP FLEX Exterior Landscape is illuminated with BULLETTO MINI, JUPITER, DURATAPE ESSENTIAL WHITE ES (IP66). Interior Cove and Accent Lighting features DURATAPE RGBW (IP20) and DURATAPE ESSENTIAL WHITE ES (IP20).

Westin Anaheim

Over 3,600 linear feet of the flexible linear DURATAPE HIVOLT ARCH was used to provide a visual line of light around the perimeter of the hotel that highlights the building facade on two key levels. DURATAPE HIVOLT ARCH was the ideal solution for this application as the flexible linear light is fully encapsulated and is IP65 rated and suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications. The linear strip allows you to simply, plug and go as no power supply is required! This product is pre-assembled to specific lengths with various connector options and has a direct line voltage connection making it ideal for long distance run lengths with uninterrupted illumination.

This powerful entry facade also featured our custom painted DART SMALL flood light fixtures mounted above the retail entries and along the pedestrian egress walkways to provide appropriate illumination levels for the visiting patrons.

Luxe cabanas surround the outdoor swimming pool area and anchor the ground floor along with a 3,600-square-foot fitness center. The luxury guest area is accented with a variety of exterior lighting including DURAFLEX ARCH TOP FLEX used throughout the cabanas and pool area.

A powerful but compact floodlight projector, BULLETTO MINI fixtures were installed with our standard Tree Strap installation on palms that surround the hotel pool and outdoor pedestrian egress areas.

JUPITER recessed 3000K ingrades were used throughout the landscape lighting design to deliver uplight along the garden area, pool and driveway paths. A combination of both Spot and Flood optics were utilized in the design.

RISE Rooftop Lounge offers informal dinning and craft cocktails, as well as frames a 270º rooftop view of Disneyland’s nightly fireworks display. BULLETTO MINI is surface mounted with the optional canopy mount accessory to provide accent illumination on the rooftop bar. The small scale of the fixtures and high center beam candle power allows the high-performing BULLETTO range to light large applications within a small form. The 180º rotation of the floodlight projector allows the luminaire to be directed as needed to provide both pathway and ambient illumination. Bar facia illumination is provided with DURATAPE ESSENTIAL WHITE (IP66) softly highlighting the natural wood vertical elements.

BULLETTO MINI

Over 4,000 linear feet of DURATAPE RGBW greets the hotel patrons providing dynamic cove illumination in the grand entry lobby, restaurant bar, and hallways leading to the ballrooms and meeting spaces. DURATAPE RGBW strip provides fully adjustable saturated color, pastel and white illumination allowing for the hotel to vibrantly showcase preprogramed seasons, holidays, and time of day effects, creating a breathtaking entrance space.

Included among the resort’s 47,000 square feet of flexible event and meeting spaces are 23 event rooms, 18 breakout rooms, and a ballroom that totals more than 16,000 square feet. Over 5,000 linear feet of 3000K DURATAPE ESSENTIAL WHITE ES strip light was used throughout the property to beautifully illuminate the coves throughout each of the ballroom, meeting, and fitness spaces. Each of the meeting rooms featured inset coves accented with DURATAPE ES with full controls for dimming to meet the changing needs required for each meeting space.
